Date: 21st February 2026, Saturday from 20.30
Deadline: 15th February 2026
Location: Boathouse Pub (Csónakház Mulató), H-1031 Budapest, Római part 30
Participants: 2-8 persons
A dancer can compete in maximum three groups.
Music: Country style music, which is uncut and hasn’t got a wellknown catalan choreography yet. If more groups choose the same music, the first listed group will have priority.
Choreography: Catalan style choreography, which has not been presented at other contests yet.
Performance category: Following international trends, we were introducing a new category: if the group presents not only dance but a complete performance, we treat it as a separate category. The group will indicate itself when they apply to be in the “Performance category”. The jury and the organizers may reclassify the presented dance after the contest and assign it to the appropriate category.
Range: The contesting groups perform their dance one after the other, regardless of the category. The range of the groups will be drawn at the festival on Friday night, with the participation of the guests.
Evaluation criteria: (1-15 points)

• Group coordination and coherence
• Harmony between music and dance
• Originality of the choreography
• Technique / complexity of the dance
• Clothing

Jury: International jury with members delegated by the participating groups. A member of the jury who has a Catalan dance experience and does not participate this contest can be nominated. Each group nominates one jury member, so there will be as many jury members as there are teams to participate. Except when two contesting groups with similar participants (for example, participate with two dances with almost same dancers), only one jury member can be nominated. We expect the nominating groups to take the jury member nomination seriously!
Awards: The first three placed groups will receive a prize.
Best Music Award: One of the hardest things to do is find good and not reserved country song. Therefore, the best music of this contest will be awarded with a special prize.
